I looked at it at first as a kinda rebound as I was pretty badly bruised from my ex and just wanted someone to make me feel good and special again, Scott done that exactly. We had an instant connection and it was so exciting yet scary. We never really spent that much time together at first but it was definitely every weekend when the band would have their gigs. I remember one night during the early stages when we slept on Karen's sofa bed and I awoke in the morning to Karen brushing my hair and wiping the previous nights makeup off my face so Scott wouldn't get a fright when he woke up!
Our short fling came to an end on New years day, Of all days which I gave him abuse for years later! Scott came to the house and told me he wasn't ready for a relationship but after that we sat and talked about rubbish for hours. Weirdest breakup I've ever had. He told me about a year later it's because he was terrified of how strongly he felt about me so quickly and didn't know how to deal with it.
About 2 weeks later he texted me and we'd continue to do so throughout the day. He'd text me every morning. We'd also meet up most weekends and he'd always stay at mine and in the morning we'd talk absolute rubbish and have such a carry on, no one could make me laugh like he did.
I helped plan his 21st, Made the food and helped decorate the hall but still we weren't together really but I was already in love with him by that point spoke to him everyday. If you mentioned his name to me I'd have the biggest smile on my face. I remember coming back from Mexico and been deprived of my favourite cider for a week he brought me a pint over from the pub for me. But still we were just "friends".
I'd had enough one night bumping into him in DaVinci's confronting him about us and what we were doing, His reply was he thought I knew the deal and he didn't want anything more. I told him to fuck off and left and never spoke to him for a month.
Next time I spoke to him was a random phone call from Florida asking me if I wanted to go to back out there in a couple of weeks with his parents. I thought stuff it if you just wanna be friends I'll get a holiday out it.
There's no other way to describe that holiday other than it was magical. We went to the Disney parks and water parks had an absolutely great time together and half way through the holiday he finally asked me if I wanted to get back together with him. My reply was to slap him and ask him what took him so long! But I was so happy! I think I was dragged on every roller coaster in Orlando that holiday because he loved them and loved to see me terrified. We swam with Sharks only because he bet me I wouldn't do it. I was petrified and crying on a rock and had to be carried out whilst kids swam past me. I returned home from that holiday the happiest women in the world.

That perfect meeting.
There's no other way to start other than to say how me and Scott met. Even though I was 20 and had already lived my life quite happily and successfully (in my opinion) until that time, When I met Scott a man who will always be my first and a great love of my life it changed dramatically. A time in my life no matter what with the good times and the bad I wouldn't ever change. I don't have time for regrets.
After a gig in the Arc in Edinburgh, Gordon and Karen in the front and me, Scott and Calais in the back with me in the middle. I'd known who Scott was already of course but we'd not really spoken. Well in that journey back home when Gordon took a wrong turn to East Lothian because he was following the wrong car, The insults were flowing in the backseat which quickly became me and Scott's way of communicating. The banter carried on back in the pub much to the disgust of my boyfriend at the time who obviously saw the connection between us and stormed off in a huff.
I never saw Scott for another couple of months properly except maybe during smoke breaks at the gigs but I'd not really thought about him as I was going through a painful breakup with my then boyfriend.
It was Karen that set it up. I know she went between us and passed on each others numbers and he finally texted me one night. After quite a few exchanges, Mine being carefully constructed with the advice of Gemma and Grant he finally asked me to go for a drink that week. It was the best date I've ever been on. We went to Wetherspoons and I'm sure it was a Tuesday or Wednesday night so not exactly an exciting night but it was brilliant. As soon as we sat down we started talking and didn't stop all night. We had the same sense of humour and just bounced off each other. Every time I went to the toilet I'd hide under the table or move so he'd be panicking when he came back in. He texted me after he dropped me off that night to ask if I wanted to start seeing him, Of course I said Yes!
